I’ve noticed recently Jim that the “Have I been pwned” warnings are not as useful as they once were because they are now notifying your email address has been found in very generics lists online and often don’t identify exactly from which site the breach occurred – because the “pwned” site doesn’t know. It seems that email addresses are being regurgitated over and over into new lists causing the alarm warnings but you can no longer can definitively identify that the compromise came from a Dropbox.com breach for example.
Still it serves as a constant reminder to us to keep on our toes and two factor is there to catch us most of the time. Just don’t lose the bloomin’ phone 🙂
Cheers
Reg
