Totally agree Jim. I mainly use the laptop for watching prerecorded shows, and forgot that I only go on line to update. I can live with the lower security level having the slider fully down.

That's weird. Slider at the very top should equal strict control.

Thanks Jim. Yes moving the slider bar to the bottom does disable that constant UAC, but does it reduce protection.

If you move the UAC slider all the way down to the bottom, that is the same as disabling it.

Also, have a look under Settings > Accounts > Additional settings, under "Additional settings" try turning Off the option to ...
